Fruity Fun Day

Today was a very exciting day because some fruit trees were donated to our school and planted on the senior school field.  When lots of fruit trees are planted together in the same place we call it an 'orchard'.
We went for a walk to the orchard to see the new fruit trees.

We saw peach trees, apple trees, pear trees, and nectarine trees.
We even found a peacherine tree.
(I wonder what a peacherine looks like and tastes like?)
We found lots of Feijoa Trees!
We love our new school orchard.
We all whispered to our fruit trees to grow strong and healthy.
We can't wait to eat the fruit!

I wonder what our fruit trees will need to grow strong and healthy?

The whole school got to dress up today if we wanted to as something fruity.
We brought a gold coin to donate to our school enviro team.

Scroll down to see how fabulously fruity we look!

Look at Sylvia.
She has made a beautiful strawberry with little black seeds
all over it.

Look at Rohan.
Rohan chose a bright orange shirt to wear.
Rohan told us how he stapled on some pictures of juicy oranges.
Look at Taylor.
Taylor is wearing her very hungry caterpillar dress
that her Mummy made her.
The very hungry caterpillar LOVES to eat fruit!

Look at Eva.
Eva is dressed up as a tangerine.
She told us how her Mummy and Daddy helped her to cut out and colour in a necklace of green leaves.
Look at Anika and Charlotte.
Anika is wearing her sparkly cherry top and
Charlotte chose her special strawberry shortcake top to
wear for Fruity Fun Day.
Look at Kingston and Joshua.
Kingston's Mum helped him make an apple tree hat.
Joshua told us about the tiny little puffy fruits that
he has on his t-shirt.
Your apple tree hat is spectacular Kingston!
Look at Raphy.
Raphy's Mum painted a bright red apple on his cheek!
Raphy also had green hair just like the apple tree leaves!
 Look at Natey.
Natey really loves pumpkins, so he asked his Mum
to paint a pumpkin on his cheek.

What creative ideas we came up with to wear on Fruity Fun day! Well done E6 Families!

We went to music with Mrs Campbell in the hall this morning.  She did some clapping songs with us.  We got to clap the syllables in the fruits and if we were that fruit we got to stand in the middle.

Can you remember how to clap the fruits?
How many claps did each fruit have?

a - pple
pear
straw-be-rry
grape
o-range

See if you can teach your family how to do it!

What a fantastic fun filled fruity Friday we all had today.
We love school!
