Healthy Snacks

On Friday we did something special together to celebrate our learning about healthy eating.

We made healthy fruit and vegetable platters to share for Morning Tea.  We know you should eat fruit or vegetables every single day to help you grow strong and stay healthy.

After the fruit and vegetables had been washed we took turns to sit around the table and prepare the food.

Jeven and Jerry pulled all the grapes off their stems.

Megan grated the carrot and Taylor sliced up the banana with a knife.
We used plastic knives so we could practice chopping and slicing safely.

Natey and Charlotte sliced up the oranges.

Rohan peeled a manderin and pulled apart the segments.
Kingston chopped up the kiwifruit into bite size pieces!
Ashton chopped up the apple and pear.
The plastic knife was tricky so Colleen helped Ashton with the very sharp knife.

Some of us wanted chose to push some fruit onto kebab sticks that Taylors Mummy gave us.  We had to be careful because the pointy end of the stick was sharp so that the fruit would slide onto the stick. We love fruity Kebabs!

YUM YUM YUM!

We got to eat our morning tea inside on the mat.  We sat in a big circle and waited patiently for Kerry and Colleen to pass around the platters.

What a delicious healthy choice snack for Morning Tea!
We are super healthy and strong in E6.
Harold would be so proud of us!

Thank you so much to Raphy and Natey's Mum Kerry, and Joshua's Mum Colleen for helping us to make our morning tea together!

There are lots of different foods we could choose to eat when we are hungry.
I wonder what we else we could eat for morning tea that would be a healthy choice and give us energy?

Leave us a comment if you have an idea!

I had such a great time helping. You all tried so hard when you prepared the fruit and vegetables. What a great effort everyone and what yummy food!
